Bankstown Family Relationship Centre provides integrated family law and relationship services to a diverse community. Our Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners assist separating families to make safe and child focused parenting arrangements in the best interests of their children.

We are seeking an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join our skilled multidisciplinary team and to contribute to the innovative CALA Project providing Culturally Appropriate and Legally Assisted Family Dispute Resolution. This part-time role (3 days per week, including Mondays) is available to 30 June 2019 and has access to salary packaging.

We are a leading not-for-profit agency providing care and support to people in Sydney across a wide range of social services: Children and families, relationships, ageing, disability, employment, mental health and youth programs.

 

 

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the following skills, qualifications or experience:

  • Ability to undertake the duties of the role in accordance with CatholicCare’s Mission, Vision and Values; and its Code of Ethics and Conduct, as well as a demonstrated ability to work from a person centred approach
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, law or conflict resolution and registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in accordance with AGD
  • Demonstrated capacity and skills in post-separation family dispute resolution, including clinical assessments and working with clients with difficult or complex presenting issues including family violence, conflict and loss and grief
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development and child protection issues
  • Demonstrated excellent ability to actively collaborate, communicate clearly and respond with respect
  • Demonstrated experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients
  • Demonstrated experience in alternative models of mediation including trauma informed mediation, legally assisted mediation and child informed practice
  • Experience in delivery of parent education and group workshops
  • Working with Children Check verification number
