The Opportunity To Make A Difference:

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Facilitator for our West Kimberley project team. This is an excellent opportunity if you have experience working with Aboriginal young people, coordinating staff and running activities with community members and organisations in the Kimberley region and are interested in supporting the long-term opportunities and development of Aboriginal young people. You will be part of a team who will be working with young people and communities to adapt World Vision’s SKYE/IMPACT positive youth development program model to the local community contexts.  

What is the SKYE and IMPACT Program? [link removed]

The SKYE/IMPACT Club program aims to support young people in gaining knowledge, skills and links to pathways that will support them to transition well into adulthood and employment and further education. The program successfully supported young people in 14 countries around the world.

The SKYE/IMPACT program is focused on supporting young people to develop a positive identity, critical life skills, strong connections with community networks to grow their leadership, education and employment aspirations and gain the knowledge, skills and experience to that support them to transition effectively into adulthood and employment opportunities.  


What’s the role of a Senior Facilitator?

  • As a Senior Facilitator you will: Manage, coach and mentor local Aboriginal Group Leaders across the three locations (Pandanus Park, Mowanjum and Derby) to develop their facilitation skills, club sessions and summer activities, and support the adaptation of project materials for the Kimberley context
  • Create networks and partnerships with key stakeholders and community leaders within the region for involvement in effective implementation of planned project activities
  • Participate in the international SKYE/IMPACT Club movement
  • Organise meetings and workshops with other team members, the Youth Program Technical Manager, group leaders, community leaders and Elders to work through project materials to ensure their adaptation to the local context
  • Contribute in organising and participating in monthly reflection meetings, documentation of stories of change, and
  • Contribute in organising and participating in bi-annually reporting on project outcomes and learnings

For this role we are looking for someone who has:

  • A strong passion for working with young people and community
  • Experience working with remote Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley region in a development context
  • Ability to facilitate  community consultations and and engage young people and community members in planning,  implementing and monitoring  program activities
  •  Experience mentoring, training, coaching, supervising or teaching young people

This is a full-time fixed term role for 3 years operating out of Derby, Western Australia
