About the role

Provide intensive case management to participants in the innovative Family Drug Treatment Court.

A rare opportunity exists to become a key part of a dynamic team that takes the ground breaking Family Drug Treatment Court forward into the next exciting phase of its development. The Children's Court of Victoria is currently piloting a highly innovative approach to the issue of parental substance abuse in the Court's Child Protection jurisdiction through the Family Drug Treatment Court.  The aim of the FDTC is to address parental substance use as a cause of family breakdown, where children have been placed in out-of-home-care, and to achieve permanent, sustainable family reunification.

The Clinical Case Manager role is based at the Broadmeadows Children's Court - a dynamic and innovative workplace that encompasses a child-friendly environment and a range of less adversarial legal practices, including the Family Drug Treatment Court, Case Docketing, and the Koori Hearing Day (Marram-Ngala Ganbu).

Working within a small team environment and engaging collaboratively with a wide range of sector partners, the Clinical Case manager is responsible for parental assessment and the development of treatment plans, and the intensive and proactive case management, coordination and supervision of parents on the FDTC program.  The Clinical Case Manager, FDTC will be responsible for providing advice to the FDTC Magistrate and team on the progress of the parents through the program.  They will also play a contributory role in the development and quality assurance of treatment services within the program (including data input and maintenance).

If you have a passion for social justice and commitment to the best interests of children, a demonstrable knowledge of issues associated with Alcohol and Other Drug use, and a demonstrable track record in the provision of intensive case-management in the community services field, together with the desire to make a difference, then we look forward to hearing from you.
