About the role: 

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide a positive residential respite experience for the people we support, in a safe and comfortable environment which promotes meaningful experiences, opportunities for community inclusion and the development of peer relationships.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

• • Provide direct support and care including personal care, recreational activities, domestic duties, medication administration and behaviour support 
  • Communicate effectively with work colleagues and with the people we support
  • Directly support client wellbeing, including support with daily household activities, preparation, cooking and assistance with meals, personal care, manual handling, social, recreational and community experiences that enhance quality of life, based on support plan goals
  • Liaise with families, other service providers, medical professionals, communities and others regarding care 

  You will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to provide hands-on client service delivery (including personal care and manual handling)
  • Willingness and ability to assist in personal care tasks
  • Ability to work flexibly over a range of shifts, including morning, afternoon, active nights, and weekend shifts
  • Experience working in the disability sector (desirable)
