We employ over 650 people across 68 sites in NSW and support clients with low, moderate, high and very high support needs across all disabilities and backgrounds, in both group and individual programs.
The role
Challenge Community Services is looking for dedicated and passionate Permanent Part Time Disability Support Workers to join our team at our Cessnock location. There will be a requirement to work occasional shifts from Singleton.
These roles work closely with people with varying support needs in both our Day Programs and/or Challenge Accommodation, providing support to people with a disability.
Who are we looking for?
The successful applicant:
- Will be able to develop strong relationships and engage with clients
- Is passionate about supporting clients with disabilities and making a difference in the lives of others
- Is able to handle complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity
- Enjoys working and interacting with people, but also able to work autonomously as required
Essential Criteria
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to be flexible and to work non-standard hours as required
- A current NSW Working With Children’s check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Unencumbered NSW driver’s license
Holding or working towards a Certificate 3 in Community Services (or similar) or equivalent industry experience is desirable.
