Established in 2006, headspace is a well-recognised national not-for-profit organisation making a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years. headspace enables young people and their families to access information and support through a national network of centres and services, and drives community awareness and education about youth mental health, early intervention and help seeking.

The Digital Work and Study service works directly with young people, providing vocational support, integrated with clinical care. The Work and Study Support Officer’s primary responsibility will be facilitating access to the service through an engagement process which includes; monitoring referral points into the service, contacting young people providing a service introduction and triaging referrals to booked appointments with Work and Study Specialists. Acting as the first point of contact for the service, it is critical to build an immediate rapport while also demonstrating a high level of customer service and an ability to interact with a diverse consumer group.

Reporting to the Digital Work and Study Coordinator, the role will contribute to the delivery of careers and employment support through a variety of interventions and will assist with the administration of other activities such as promotion of the service. The incumbent will provide advice, support, advocacy, resources and follow up, therefore working towards improving outcomes for clients of the service and the wider community. You will be an integral part of the team, maintaining optimal communication between the administrative, service and clinical components of the service.

To be successful in this role, you will have a keen interest in the area of careers and employment support for young, vulnerable people. You will have experience and/or knowledge in health, careers or employment service delivery and have an ability to maintain accurate case notes and records. A professional manner is essential and you will possess exceptional organisational and time management skills. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate who is looking for a career in this industry.

In return we offer a flexible and dynamic environment where you have the opportunity to truly make a difference to young Australians. Remuneration is dependent on skills and experience, and includes generous salary packaging opportunities. This role is offered as a full time position, however candidates with part time availability are encouraged to apply.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
