  • Permanent part time position - 20 hours per week (some weekend/evening work may be required)
  • Salary range between $40.15 to $48.19 per hour ($803.00 to $963.80 per week) + superannuation

Create opportunities for the Coast's young people as part of our Youth Services team. This role works with young people on the Central Coast to identify their needs and aspirations, and deliver a range of programs, events and activities across the Region that support and empower young people to participate in the local community.  

Key activities of this role include: 

  • Identify changing population issues, consult with young people, relevant youth service providers and the community and develop strategies and programs to meet identified needs of young people;
  • Develop and provide youth based activities, programs and events that support and empower young people;
  • Advise Central Coast Council on community development issues associated with young people.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor Degree qualification in Youth Studies, Social Science, Community Development or related field OR extensive experience in developing and delivering youth programs combined with ongoing professional development;
  • Current First Aid Certificate;
  • Working with Children Check;
  • Extensive experience in working with young people within a community development framework;
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of youth related services;
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, managing and evaluating youth programs and projects;
  • Previous experience effectively engaging and consulting with young people, project partners and other stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of current trends and practice in youth leadership/development.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience operating lighting and sound equipment;
  • Experience working in Local Government.
