Alzheimer's Queensland (AQ) is a not for profit organisation that prides itself on being an innovative organisation that exceeds residents expectations, so that people with dementia, the frail aged and their families can have an improved quality of life.
Located at our facility in Rosalie, this is a permanent part time position, working Monday to Friday, approximately 70 hours per fortnight.
As an experienced Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating residential lifestyle programs for both individuals and groups diagnosed with dementia. The position may also involve taking residents out on activities.
Critical to your success in this hands on role is the willingness to be flexible to environmental changes, possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to facilitate and support resident development, achievement and independence in valued social roles within the centre and broader community.
To be considered for this role:
- Hold a minimum Certificate IV level qualification in Leisure and Lifestyle or Diversional Therapy or Bachelor of Health Science highly regarded
- Minimum 2 years program development experience within a similar position
- Intermediate computer skills with Word & internet search engines
- Model team qualities such as respect, helpfulness, cooperation & support
- Comply with WHS requirements
- Sound knowledge of dementia & care of people with dementia in community and residential care highly regarded
- A current opens driver's licence is essential
