The Role
The main role of the Employment Consultant is to efficiently address job seekers' barriers and move them into more engaging on site activities or Work for the Dole and therefore support them to move into sustainable employment. This role is based at our Aitkenvale office.
 
General tasks include:

• Identifying barriers job seekers face and working with them to address/overcome these
• Supporting jobseekers to find and engage with employment opportunities 
• Referrals to counselling
• Attending and conducting in-house activities
• Linking with specialist support organisations
• Networking with local community and employer organisations to identify job seeker opportunities
• Maintaining records and general administration in accordance with Job Active contractual guidelines

You
To be successful in this role you will be an engaging communicator with a compassionate and firm demeanour.  You will be solutions-focused for the job seekers you work with and use your experience and networks to leverage opportunities.  In addition you will have an eye for details and excellent organisation and time management skills to ensure you meet contractual guidelines.
 
A background of experience and qualifications in employment and community services will be favourably looked upon.
