The Balonne Shire Council has an executive leadership opportunity for a new Director Community and Environmental Sustainability.
This position holds a key role in Council’s executive leadership team and is responsible for a broad range of interlinked environmental, development, regulatory and community services programmes.
The Director will also be responsible for some of the region’s most high-profile projects, including a large-scale Wild Dog Exclusion Fencing project, an integrated Regional Health Services project and a development of the Council’s Biosecurity Plan. Each will have far-reaching community and economic development outcomes for the communities of the Balonne Shire.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leadership of a team of dedicated professionals.
- Strong policy, programme and performance focus.
- Development of a vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable Balonne Shire.
Experience in a similar role is essential and post graduate qualifications in management or project management will be well regarded.
The Balonne Shire Council has a population of 4500 and serves the communities of St George, Thallon, Dirranbandi, Bollon, Nindigully, Mungindi, and Hebel. This position is based in St George, located five-hours’ drive west of Brisbane. The town has all the facilities for a comfortable rural lifestyle including a modern hospital, a wide range of schooling options, hotels and cafes & rural industries.
