Multiple Full time and Part time opportunities are available within our specialised home where you can make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged or vulnerable Young people.
About the role
In this rewarding role, as a Residential Care Worker you will work collaboratively to provide a high standard of physical and emotional care to young people living within our homes. By utilising your passion and commitment, you will interact therapeutically and positively with the young people, spending quality time with them, cooking meals, undertaking household duties and participating in daily general duties. In this position, you will also provide information to other professionals regarding the young people, as well as completing reports, updating records and other compliance requirements.
We are currently seeking individuals to join our motivated team in a permanent capacity, based in the Southern Metro region. This includes the Elwood, Bentleigh and Frankston areas.
Our homes operate on a 24/7 basis, thus successful applicants must be available to work a roster including evenings, overnights, weekends and public holidays.
About you
We are looking for people who have:
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care), or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications;
- A commitment towards the principles and practice of quality care in residential settings for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, and to promote autonomy and self-determination for clients;
- Demonstrated understanding of, and respect for, cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD), including cultural safety for children from CALD backgrounds;
- Excellent communication skills, including abilities in engaging well with young people and working collaboratively with other staff and professionals;
- Flexibility in working hours
