About the position
An exciting opportunity exists for an Activities Assistant to join the client care team to assist with the implementation and evaluation of activity programs and the development of innovative approaches to meeting the individual needs of clients.
With a minimum of a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, the ideal candidate will be experienced in delivering engaging activities and social programs along with a demonstrated ability to relate to a diverse range of people. The right person will be a great cook, have a food safety certificate (or supervisor), have an aptitude for gardening, crafts or other leisure activity and willing to drive the bus on outings.
Experience working in aged care and with people with dementia will be highly regarded.
A Current driver's licence is essential.

To provide clients with specific activities that are reflective of their goals and priorities
To encourage and support clients to maximize their independence
To conduct and assist clients with individual and group programs
Skills and experience
Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support (Home and Community)
Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
Current Food Handling Certificate – Level 1
Experience working with people with dementia
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of social activity programs in a way that supports client independence
Ability to speak a second language highly regarded
Demonstrated computer skills
