We’re ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children’s rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there’s a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:

In this full-time position based in our Darwin office, you will be a senior leader within Save the Children Australia and our senior voice in the Northern Territory. You will lead, manage and inspire the NT team to achieve impact for children, families and communities by ensuring our programming is high quality and sustainable. You will be part of the Australian Programs senior management team and report to the Director, Australian Programs.

  • Leading state-based business development activities to deliver program sustainability, as well as scale, leverage and quality
  • Successfully promoting Save the Children across state and local media outfits whilst advocating for the rights of children

If we could compose the perfect you…

You are currently living in the Territory, wanting to return or looking for a new and rewarding experience. You have deep experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse groups, communities and organisations, and bring a strong track record of delivery and collaboration. A skilled networker and influencer; you can inspire and communicate a unified vision that advocates for the rights of children. A strong leadership approach that combines operational excellence with flexibility and resilience will see you and your team achieve success.

This role requires:

  • Senior leadership and strategic planning experience within complex environments
  • Highly developed skills in operational management incl. leading culturally and professionally diverse, geographically dispersed teams
  • Track record in business development incl. preparation and submission of successful funding proposals
  • Sound knowledge of child safeguarding policy, practice and legislative requirements
