Our NSW State Government client is responsible for responding to applications received by Community Services that have been made under section 168 of the Children and Young Person (Care and Protection) Act 1998.

We are currently looking for an experienced and empathetic Assistant Project Officers to join the amazing team in Ashfield, for an estimated 10-week temporary contract.

In this role you will be responsible for however not limited to –  
  • Accurate processing of applications in a high-volume environment, within the allocated timeframe
  • Reviewing of large documentation (300 pages +) ensuring relevant and legal information is provided or omitted
  • Working successfully to a strict project timeframe, providing project and operational support including the monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones etc ensuring alignment with approved project plans
  • Managing cases and gathering information to assist
  • Implementation of policies, plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with current legislation and agreed project management methodology
  • Working closely with and supporting the project team in order to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure that agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Communicate on a regular basis with relevant stakeholders to provide updated in relation to the project status and implementation issues
  • Proving a range of secretariat and administrative support, including the coordination of committee meetings and preparation of papers to support the project management delivery
To be successful in this role you will have –
  • WWCC is required for this role – current or willing to obtain
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment checks including references and National Police Check
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A high attention to detail
  • High accuracy in the input of data, mostly of a sensitive and potentially confronting nature
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive, confronting and confidential information
  • Proven experience in liaising successfully with both internal and external stakeholders
  • A current working with Children Check or willingness to obtain a Working with Children’s Check
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, superior administrative skills
  • Proven experience with working in a project team and adhering to allocated timeframes
