Do you have a passion for working with an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation which promotes the strength and resilience of Aboriginal people through culturally appropriate healing.
Yorgum seeks interested persons in applying for the above positions located in Albany and Kalgoorlie.
About Yorgum:
Yorgum aims to offer Aboriginal people an autonomous, Aboriginal-specific community-based counselling and referral service that acknowledges the impact of colonisation on Aboriginal people.
We provide an environment to enhance the healing process for Aboriginal individuals and their families experiencing emotional distress, and working towards empowerment collectively and individually.
At all times we operate within the framework of the Aboriginal Terms of Reference and within the principles of trauma informed.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants must demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria listed below.
- Demonstrated experience in supervision of teams in a multi-disciplinary setting, including motivating staff, coaching and providing feedback.
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintaining a process to prioritise client referrals, including the management of a waitlist.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with Aboriginal families, community and services and responding to needs.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluating service plans to ensure goals are being met.
- Experience in building and maintaining partnerships across Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal services, community and government agencies.
Essential Eligibility Requirements:
- Demonstrated and relevant experience in the social services
- Relevant computer skills in key Office software and applications
- Ability to work outside of standard business hours as required
- Current C Driver’s License
- Working with Children’s Check
- Police Clearance not less than six (6) months old
