Project officer

Implementation of Child Safe Standards / Reportable Conduct scheme

Part time vacancy, 12 months, Band 6 plus super

Monash City Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to work in the Early Years and Family Services team, in order to support the implementation of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme across the organisation. Monash City Council is committed to actively promoting child safety and reducing the factors that lead to children being harmed, by ensuring compliance with the Victorian Child Safe Standards.

This position will support the organisation to understand the child safe standards, their objectives, and what they mean for the organisation, as well as provide guidance and training to help all staff meet the standards.

The team provides a responsive, flexible and accessible service within the broader program. 

The Council aims to drive cultural change in the organisation so that protecting children from abuse is embedded in the everyday thinking and practice of leaders, staff and volunteers.

Applicants must have appropriate qualifications and experience as indicated in the Position Description, which includes: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Human Services discipline or other relevant discipline;
  • A Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment;
  • Several years’ experience working in, and across, the human services field within a large organisation, with an emphasis on training adults in a sustainable manner; and
  • A satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check.
