Hume City Council has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated person wishing to pursue a career in local government in the area of social and community planning.
The position is responsible for informing the long term planning and future provision of social and community infrastructure to support and facilitate community growth and development of the City.
The City Community Planner will focus on strategic partnerships and the long term planning (5+years) horizon for health, human services, education and learning infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a cooperative planning environment, working with both internal and external stakeholders to support Council's planning for existing and new communities and support the development of social policy and planning activities.
The successful applicant will support the development of a community infrastructure planning strategy to ensure the City's long-term growth is supported by the timely delivery of critical new community infrastructure to support the health and wellbeing of the City.
Key Skills:
- Proven skills and ability to collate, analyse, and present social planning data in a comprehensive and accessible manner that effectively informs the long term planning of community infrastructure.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and capacity to develop constructive relationships, negotiate outcomes and build effective working partnerships and collaboration.
- Demonstrated analytical and conceptual and problem solving skills.
