Community Programs Supervisor

Lifeline is seeking to employ a Community Programs Supervisor located in Newcastle, NSW.

This position will be a full-time 12-month contract – 5 days per week, based in Islington.

About the position:

The Community Programs Supervisor is responsible for the delivery of our Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Services (CSPS) to the community across the six nominated Local Government Areas (LGA’s) that Lifeline Direct has funding for until 30th June 2019.

The Community Programs Supervisor will also oversee the delivery of the community engagement and planning aspects of Lifeline’s service delivery contract with the Hunter, New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC PHN).

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience and relevant qualification in Social Service, Community Engagement, or related discipline.
  • Understanding of issues around Suicide Prevention services.
  • Sound information technology expertise.
  • Ability to maintain accurate statistical and evaluative data and present reports and acquittals in a timely manner.
  • High level of communication skills and experience.
  • Ability to work in and support a caring and nurturing team.
  • Ability to work independently and interdependently and manage time appropriately, honestly, and flexibly.
  • Ability to display tact, discretion, and integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Ability to deal with clients displaying behaviours of concern and difficult situations.
  • Ability and desire to project and promote a positive image of Lifeline.
  • Have completed, or willing to complete, the LivingWorks ASIST program.
  • Accreditation, willingness to obtain, to deliver LivingWorks safeTALK program.
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate with appropriate external organisations and agencies.
  • Current Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.

This position is full-time – worked between Monday and Friday.

The successful candidate may be required to satisfactorily undergo a pre-employment Medical Assessment where applicable and agree to a National Criminal History Record Check.
