About Us
Stretch-A-Family (SAF) is an accredited not-for-profit organisation that has been caring for children and young people in Sydney since 1977. SAF is a child safe and trauma informed organisation that provides therapeutic care - Foster Care and Residential Care for 0 - 18 year olds. We have two residential programs and a foster care program all based in the Sydney Metropolitan area.
About the Role
Join a team of skilled and passionate caseworkers to deliver a foster care program. You deliver support through our therapeutic model and make a real change in young people's lives.
- Provide support across Sydney to support foster carers in the community and in their homes;
- Work in partnership with all SAF programs to deliver high quality standards;
- Provide support and mentor caseworkers.
- Reduce the risk of harm and increase the safety of children and young people;
- Training on the use of SAF analytical tools of assessment;
- Work collaboratively with other services to achieve the best outcomes;

About You
- Degree level qualifications or equivalent in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology or related field;
- Significant casework experience (3 years+) with children, young people and families in OOHC and Child Protection experience;
- Sound knowledge of Child Protection and OOHC issues
- Outstanding communication and time management skills;
- A commitment to ongoing learning and development;
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- Flexibility to work outside business hours;
- Demonstrated experience in understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people, trauma, and the resulting emotional and behavioural issues;
- Intermediate computer skills;
- Current NSW First Aid Certificate;
- Comprehensively insured vehicle and current NSW Drivers Licence (Car Allowance paid)
