About Us

Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) operates within the context that Aboriginal children continue to be significantly over-represented in the protection and care system within Victoria. VACCA considers that it has the responsibility and the opportunity to promote, advocate for and achieve positive changes in the lives of Aboriginal children, their families and the broader Aboriginal community.

The Opportunity

The Safe Early Years program is led by MacKillop Family Services in partnership with Queen Elizabeth Centre and the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency.

This program is a child focused and family centred, demonstration project that privileges safety, stability and healthy development of children, and the cessation of violence in all its forms. The program will engage vulnerable young parents, infants and preschool children who have experienced family violence and will focus on families in Bayside Peninsula, Greater Dandenong, Casey and Kardinia.

This position is responsible for providing high quality, intensive and effective outreach and therapeutic family work including skill based parental assistance, service intervention and support to young parents and their children who have experienced family violence.

Situated within the Safe Early Years program that is a part of Children, Youth and Family Services in the South.
