The role
We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Case Worker to join our team. The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills, demonstrated experience advocating for men, women and children and an advanced understanding of the complex needs of people facing homelessness, domestic and family violence.
The position is ongoing part-time: 60 hours per fortnight, according to program needs.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for diligent individuals who are experienced in supporting people in a range of ways dependent upon the needs of each individual, whilst working within relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and frameworks to achieve positive outcomes for the people they are supporting. To be successful, you’ll also have:
- An ability to use initiative, set priorities, work collaboratively and achieve individual and team goals and targets
- An ability to develop rapport and positive relationships with people we support, stakeholders, colleagues and fellow staff members
- Computer skills of a high standard, especially in MS Office software, e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, and the internet.
The essential requirements
Criteria to be addressed in your application:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline, or equivalent experience with extensive background in working with men, women and families with mental health, drug and alcohol issues, and domestic violence
- Experience in, or demonstrated commitment to, actively supporting people at risk of homelessness
- Demonstrated awareness of, and willingness to operate under the Strengths-Based, Trauma-Informed Approach and Person-Centred Planning principles
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues involved in working with at risk people and a commitment to Social Justice
- Ability to use initiative, set priorities, work collaboratively and achieve individual and team goals and targets
- Proven ability to develop rapport and positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, colleagues and fellow staff members

This position is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, as Social and Community Services Employee Level 4.
