Counselling Supervisor – Newcastle Hunter

 

Lifeline is seeking to employ a Counselling Supervisor located in Newcastle, NSW.

This position will be a part-time 12-month contract – 30 hours per week, based in Islington.

About the position:

The Counselling Supervisor has the primary responsibility of providing professional, ethical, and up to date evidenced based supervision and support to the Face to Face Counselling team. Through the provision of this supervision they will assist the team to deliver quality personal counselling services to the clients of Lifeline Hunter Central Coast (LLHCC). The Counselling Supervisor will manage the ongoing professionalism and delivery of the Lifeline Counselling Services in the Newcastle and Hunter area.

Essential Criteria:

  • Meet the requirements of a minimum Level 2 ACA Member.
  • Completed or willing to complete an ACA Accredited Training Course in Supervision.
  • Experience in the provision of short term counselling, training, and consulting to a diverse client group.
  • Have completed, or willing to attend, the LivingWorks ASIST program.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training in various counselling topics.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer/client service encompassing both internal and external customer relationships.
  • Ability to work in an NGO with volunteer staff and support a caring and nurturing team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high quality written and oral communication aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and interdependently and manage time appropriately, honestly and flexibly.
  • Current Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.

This position is part-time – worked between Monday and Friday.

The successful candidate may be required to satisfactorily undergo a pre-employment Medical Assessment where applicable and agree to a National Criminal History Record Check.
