The Trainer and Assessor will work within the Learning and Development Department and will be responsible for developing, delivering and administering quality training and assessment programs. Our goal is to nurture our staff to empower them to provide the highest level of care for the people we support.

What you’ll need:

  • Certificate IV in Disability plus a relevant industry qualification
  • Demonstrated training and assessment experience within the disability or community services sector
  • A sound understanding of adult education, learning principles and best practice in delivering training to groups with diverse cultural backgrounds
  • A confident and enthusiastic approach to delivering first class face to face and online education
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to quality and detail
  • Commitment, flexibility, initiative and the ability to work as part of a growing team
  • Sound skills in working independently, managing a range of tasks and own workload whilst working to meet competing priorities and deadlines
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and computer skills

This role will include:

  • Delivering training and education workshops to groups of adult learners; both internally and externally
  • Coordinate and conduct work-based competency assessments
  • Develop and review the association’s training resources as determined by the Learning and Development Officer
  • Effective coordination and communication with the Learning and Development Officer, Residential Service Manager’s and Area Managers
  • Generate reports and provide statistical data as required
  • Track staff skill sets and ensure skill competencies are up to date
  • Provide relevant and valid feedback to participants
