About the business and the role

Total Support Services is an organisation that supports people  with disabilities to live independently in the community. We have several clients through out Adelaide that need active support workers to assist them.

Job tasks and responsibilities

You will be required to:

• Provide assistance with ADL's 
• Assist clients to access community activities as agreed and/or documented within support plans
• Where ever possible encourage clients with full inclusion into the community
• Assist clients to learn new skills when accessing the community including money handling, accessing public transport, shopping a
• Support clients to maintain positive relationships and develop and maintain social networks with flexible approaches
• Attempt to empower clients to self direct their services and have choice and control of what they do and how their support is provided
• Dispensing and/or assisting with medication in line with the client's support plan 
• Working with people with behaviors of concern

Skills and experience

You must have

• Certificate III in Disability/Aged Care or minimum 3 years experience in the field
• Previous experience in working with clients with high support needs 
• Current "C" Class drivers license and a reliable vehicle 
• DCSI Child Related Screening 
• Manual Handling certificate
• First Aid
