Caring Approach is a fast growing, vibrant, supportive and caring organisation based at Hornsby in Sydney's North suburbs. We provide tailored in home support and community care for the elderly and people with both physical and intellectual  disabilities in NSW including greater Sydney and the A.C.T. and surrounding areas. Caring Approach are registered NDIS and aged care providers.

We are seeking caring and professional individuals to become part of the Caring Approach team to promote independence for people living at home. Caring Approach currently has available shifts in the Richmond and Windsor areas.

General duties include:

  • Provide personal care and support to individuals in their own home
  • bowel care
  • Domestic tasks
  • Food preparation and service
  • Medication administration
  • Assistance with activities of daily living
  • Transport to and from medical appointments and social outings

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • An understanding of delivering care in a person centred way
  • Certificate 111 or above in disability, aged care, community care or willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment.
  • The ability to problem solve
  • Ability to fulfil shift duties and have excellent time management skills
  • Have appropriate visa to work in Australia 
  • Current Police check within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain prior to employment
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Smart phone with the ability to install apps
  • 6 months minimum experience delivering personal care
  • Current first aid/CPR certificate
  • Drivers licence and own fully insured transport
  • Have an empathetic and understanding approach to providing care

Desirable:

  • Experience in working with people who have quadriplegia and people who have complex needs
  • Certification and or experience in bowel care
  • Certification and or experience in medication administration
  • Experience in working with people that require manual handling. Qualifications in this area will be highly regarded.
  • ability to implement positive behaviour support strategies and an awareness of person centred active support.
