About the Role 
This is a rewarding opportunity for you to make a change in a Child or Young Person's life. Working directly with Children and Young People who live in a 24/7 Residential Setting. You will actively support the individual needs of the young people through supporting and promoting their skills and abilities, providing support with daily living activities.  Support Workers work as a team to facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes in a positive and proactive environment.
 
The successful candidates will need to have experience working with Children and Young People who have complex behaviours or who have experienced trauma.” This part- time role is based in Broome working after school hours and occasionally weekends with sleepover shifts.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
  • Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
  • Develop, implement and monitor individual plans
  • Maintenance of progress notes and report writing
  • Support the involvement of family
  • Mentoring the young people
 
Skills & Experience
  • Certificate III in Community Welfare, or similar, or willingness to complete this within first 2 years of employment.
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence.
  • Ability to work various shifts (after school hours, sleepover & active nights) throughout the week and weekends.
  • Good communication skills including the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including families of service users). 
  • Ability to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality.
  • Established problem solving and conflict management skills.
 
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and a CPFS 395 clearance.
