Gold Coast Employment Support Service Inc (GCESS) provides specialised employment services to people with disabilities or barriers, to help them gain and retain employment. Established in 1992, GCESS is a not for profit organisation, dedicated to providing a superior support service that is responsive to the needs of both the service recipient and employer.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a Training & Placement Officer- Grade 1 to join our South Brisbane team.
Job Tasks and responsibilities:-
• Offering support in a variety of occupations and industries to jobseekers with disabilities.
• Ability, willingness and flexibility in offering support to jobseekers to succeed in employment.
• A team player as well as being able to work autonomously
Skills and Experience (Desirable):
• Demonstrates the ability to work with people with disabilities and/or barriers
• Strong communication skills to provide support to jobseekers.
• Strong administration skills.
• Working with Children clearance check.
• White Card holder.
• MUST have a Current and Clean Open Drivers Licence

Position Description including Selection Criteria is listed below:
SELECTION CRITERIA - Training and Placement Officer - Grade 1 - South Brisbane
1. Proven performance in the workplace including: a positive mindset, attributes and behaviours that model a positive outlooks, high level of interpersonal skills, professionalism, self motivation and being a positive team member including a capacity to resolve challenges and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
2. Proven ability in written and verbal communication skills and proven experience in communicating effectively and positively with other team members, Service Participants, employers and other key stakeholders.
3. Demonstrated experience relevant to the role and sector. Commitment to work within GCESS’s Professional Code of Conduct and Vision Statement.
4. Experience in working with clients with a disability. Ability to work collaboratively with employers for long term tenure, and providing pre and post placement support to Service Participants. Able to work within and meet compliance and auditing processes.
