This position will provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with safety and wellbeing and associated issues, as well as providing case management support to clients and their families/carers.

The role will provide education and require active participation in the development of referral pathways with agencies and other community services.

The successful candidate will have

Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Satisfactory Criminal record check. 
  • This is an Aboriginal identified position, women whom are Aboriginal or/and Torres Strait Islander descend will be engaged.
  • Current Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the field of drug and alcohol and mental health issues
  • Demonstrated experience developing case plans which take into account the physical, cultural, spiritual, emotional and social wellbeing needs of the client and their families/carers
  • Demonstrated experience working with community leaders and elders in delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support services which build the resilience of individuals and the community
  • Demonstrated experience working in partnership with government agencies and community service providers to develop effective referral pathways for clients with drug and alcohol issues
