Are you a qualified social welfare professional looking for work within the sector on a casual on- call basis? Does flexibility in your daily routine work for you? Do you have experience in a residential care environment?

Job Description:

McArthur is looking for experienced social welfare professionals to work on a casual on-call roster across state wide locations providing 24/7 support in residential care.

Suitable staff will be required to assist with supervised access visits, transport children and adolescence, providing family support and working within residential care environments

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced residential and social welfare support workers with at least 12 months experience working with children, young people, families and adults across a wide range of leading service providers.

Opportunities to work within child protection, drug and alcohol support, mental health, crisis accommodation and youth and adult based residential care environments.

What we are looking for:

  • Suitable applicants will need to be experienced with children from 0-18 years of age and have appropriate experience and knowledge of child welfare, child protection services and legislation.
  • Proven experience working with young people and adults within a residential care environment
  • An understanding of trauma and how to work best with children, young people and adults.
  • The ability to remain calm in a crisis
  • An open-minded approach to supporting people with behavioural issues and complex needs.
  • The capacity to adapt to changing work environments.
  • Have great communication skills with the ability to engage well with people and work well with other staff.
  • Flexibility to work with a range of different shifts including active stand-up and sleepover shifts- this is essential.
  • Suitable applicants will need to have a minimum availability of three days per week.

Suitable applicants must have:

  • Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology or a minimum Diploma of Community Services
  • Minimum 12 months paid sector related experience
  • Current WWCC
  • Victorian Drivers License
  • Current Police Check (or willing to undertake)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
