The Community Care division are recruiting for dedicated, experienced and enthusiastic Disability and/or Youth Workers to support clients in various settings.

The role is based in Rockhampton and is a casual position. Shifts may cover days, evenings, sleepovers and weekends. Suitable candidates may be offered work in surrounding areas if available.

In the role you will be required to assist clients who can display high levels of challenging behaviours and have restricted practices. You will adhere to their behaviour support plan, following all procedures implemented to manage behaviours of concern. 

Your duties will also provide clients with high quality support that addresses the clients needs, enhances independence, community participation and quality of life. You may be required to transport the client in your own vehicle for community access shifts. 

About You

• Have 12 months plus PAID experience working with clients who have complex and challenging behaviours
• Have the ability to engage with all different personalities to provide support and encouragement
• Be able to manage high challenging behaviour situations as they arise
• Have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Willing to commit to a variety of different shifts

To be considered for the role, we are looking for passionate workers that meet the above and also the following:   

• Certificate III in Disability/Community Services or a qualification related to the role
• Unrestricted QLD drivers licence, own reliable vehicle for work purposes and Full Comprehensive Car Insurance
• Current First Aid certificate (dated within the last 3 years)
• Current CPR certificate (dated within the last 12 months)
• Current QLD Positive Notice Blue Card (Working with Children) and Disability Services Positive Notice (dated within the last 3 years) or be willing to apply for both cards
• Have a smartphone (ie. iPhone, Android) to access our eHCA App
