About The Role

You will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in developing and delivering Victoria & Tasmania's fundraising business plan, and ensuring high quality relationship management with current and potential donors.

This role is also involved in engaging external parties (e.g. State Advisory Board, Sub Committee members) to involve their networks for the benefit of Starlight nationally.

The role of the State Partnerships Manager is made up of strategy, leadership and fundraising components with clear targets and measures against the following;

  • To create positive Starlight experiences
  • Achievement of fundraising net income budgets against state plan
  • Accurate and timely reporting of business performance
  • Effective decision making and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Key partnerships 3 year plans in place and implemented 
  • Successful support for the donor care strategy to acquire new partners, deepen relationships and generate funds to budget  
  • Successful development of the State Partnerships Team and retention of key staff
  • High quality and active relationships with State Advisory Boards, corporate and community partners.
  • Acting as a guardian for the Starlight Culture and ensuring Safeguarding Children & young people policy is followed at all times

About You

Partnerships team members are: Positive, engaging, driven, grounded, authentic, mindful and connected.

  • Experience and evidence of strong people management skills
  • Fundraising, negotiation and revenue generation ability and experience – preferably in NFP environment
  • Proven ability to manage relationships and strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic and change oriented environment
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and willing to work additional hours during busy times

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualification in Business, Sales Management, Marketing or related discipline
  • Experience within a sales environment, including long term relationship development and growth, and leadership of a sales or fundraising team
  • 3 - 5 years' experience of Account Management, NFP or commercial environment.
  • Management experience including team and budget management, evidence of operational implementation of business plans.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
