About the role:

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Accommodation, this exciting opportunity will join our newly created leadership team of Accommodation, Community and Disability Services. You will provide operational leadership and support to staff that ensures the provision of quality services in an environment that is person centred, led by the individuals and recognises the importance of family and community inclusion.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide an environment that is rights based and person centred, recognising the importance of family and community and engage individuals positively in the community
  • Manage and facilitate the implementation, review and monitoring of individual Lifestyle Plans, Behaviour Support Plans and Person Centred Plans to achieved desired outcomes as identified by individuals
  • Coordinate relevant health supports for individual’s including GP, specialists, allied health therapists, and psychologists
  • Identify and establish team attitudes and behaviours and foster a team environment in which staff apply these to individuals and team members
  • Manage the ongoing recruitment, induction, and training of staff within the service/s
  • Identify performance issues and with the support/advice of the line manager ensure timely and effective resolutions
  • Manage fortnightly staffing rosters in consultation with staff and line manager to meet individuals needs and ensure rostered hours are in line with funded hours
  • In conjunction with the line manager, participate in the budget preparation process and manage and monitor the operational budget of the nominated service/s,
  • Ensure budget targets are met, rostered hours are within funded hours and expenditure of all funds is accounted for, including individual and housekeeping monies
  • Ensure house supplies are ordered and that minimum stock levels are maintained
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the property
  • Ensure property maintenance is undertaken and that maintenance jobs are logged through the appropriate system in a timely manner

You will have:

  • Demonstrated understanding of NDIS
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within the disability field with the ability to promote dignity and respect for people with a disability and their carers
  • Experience in building positive relationships and communicating effectively with people with disabilities, families, staff and other service providers
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan and organise own week and that of team
  • Ability to work under pressure managing competing demands and respond effectively to challenges and emergency situations
