About the opportunity 

Getting a license isn’t always easy. Many people face daily struggles and circumstances that prevent them from achieving this such as poverty, homelessness and unemployment.

Through our 120 Countdown Program, we support those who need it to obtain their licence and offer the chance to expand their horizons. They are matched with a trained volunteer mentor who supports them by providing regular weekly driving practice in a fully maintained vehicle until they accumulate 120 hours of driving experience.

We’re looking for a Regional Coordinator as committed to making a difference in the lives of others as we are to provide leadership, day to day coordination of the program and to support a team of volunteer mentors. You’ll do everything from:

• Advertising, screening and selecting Learner Drivers and Volunteer Mentors
• Onboarding all volunteer mentors and Learner Drivers to Uniting and the 120 Countdown program
• Maintaining a booking system for driving lessons; booking in volunteer mentors and learner drivers
• Delivering presentations and providing information on the 120 Countdown to communities and key stakeholders
• Maintaining the systems for logging and reporting the vehicle fleet 

This is initially a Part Time position working Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday in Wyong until March 2019 before becoming a 35-hour Monday – Friday position. Your full time week will be split between our Wyong and Gosford offices to best support the program

About You

• A minimum Certificate IV in Volunteer Program Coordination or Business Administration or Community Development or Social Work or equivalent experience
• The ability to recruit, manage, motivate and inspire a team of volunteers.
• High level proficiency in MS Office (particularly MS Word and Excel)
• Ability to provide detailed reports and collect statistics for program evaluation.
• Experience and ability to monitor and review income and expenditure within current funding
• Current, valid driver’s licence.
