Work Connection Ltd provides Employment and Community Connections for people with a disability, injury and/or mental health condition across the Mackay and Whitsunday regions.
We are a high performing organisation, seeking a full-time DES Employment Consultant for our Cannonvale office.
In this challenging and rewarding role you will be responsible for working with clients with disability and employers throughout the region, to obtain sustainable employment opportunities.
Some of the duties within the role include:
- Working with clients to support them and prepare them for employment possibilities
- Applying a person focused framework in the delivery of our services
- Assisting clients with sourcing and obtaining referals to other support services (eg mental health services, counselling and financial planning) to address a range of barriers
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and Departmental guidelines
- Achieving long term sustainable employment outcomes for our clients
- Networking with local businesses to create employment opportunities and establish stakeholder relationships
To be considered for the role you would ideally have:
- A minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of DES or jobactive
- Proven track record and strong performance history in meeting team targets and KPI's
- Customer service skills that exceed standard expectations, with an ability to liaise at ease with clients, families and stakeholders
- The ability to be a self starter, who is driven to motivate and inspire your clients to reach their employment and life goals
- A valid driver's licence
- Ability to obtain a blue card and police check
