About the role

MercyCare is seeking a Coordinator for Safeguarding Children and Young People to join our Family and Community Services Directorate in West Perth. This is a part time position (3 days’ per week) until 30 June 2019.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering phase 2 of the safeguarding children accreditation to the following business areas; Aged Care, Business Services and Systems/Early Learning Services. The incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating ongoing activities, reporting, training and accreditation requirements for Safeguarding Children and Young People across MercyCare.

Minimum requirements

  • Tertiary qualification such as Psychology, Social Work or Social Sciences
  • Significant experience and knowledge of child protection policy development, reporting, implementation, review
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management / Change Management processes
  • Experience in working in collaborative work environments; managing stakeholder relationships and working towards mutual outcomes
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Valid C Class Drivers Licence
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)
