An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Seeing Eye Dog Instructor to join our team in Kensington.

Responsibilities 

As an Seeing Eye Dog Instructor at Vision Australia you will: 

  • Train clients in the use and care of Seeing Eye Dogs as a mobility aid
  • Assess clients and dogs
  • Train dogs up to matching standards
  • Provide ongoing support and education/training of Dog Guide teams
  • Train, coach and support Trainees

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualified as an Instructor with a school recognised by the International Guide Dog Federation
  • Substantial post graduate experience as an Instructor
  • Ability to meet the physical demands and requirements of this role including the ability to independently undertake long walks on a daily basis
  • Excellent dog handling skills
  • Excellent client management skills
