The Oasis Centre currently located in Wyong CBD is seeking to employ a Mission and Outreach Leader to enhance and expand its existing range of internal and external support services.

 

Working in cooperation with the Centre Manager, the Mission and Outreach Leader will provide and coordinate provision of a diverse range of Christian, faith-based services to community members, volunteers, staff and visitors.

 

The primary focus of the role will be to enhance the Christian Ministry within the Oasis centre and assist in the development of an active frontline church community which will have its base at the Oasis Centre with active outreach into the local community.

 

This is a full time award free role requiring the successful applicant to work hours and days compatible with both centre and church operations and activities. As such some regular after hours and weekend work will be required with adequate provision made for time in lieu or flexible working hours arrangements.

 

The remuneration package includes salary, superannuation and access to salary packaging options to enhance net income. If role related travel is required, access to a pool vehicle or reimbursement for personal vehicle use will be arranged.

 

To be considered for this role, all applicants will be required to already possess or be able to obtain within a reasonable and mutually agreed timeframe from commencement the following key attributes or qualifications:

  

• A uniformed Salvationist with a commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army and become an active member of the Salvation Army Church Community at Wyong.  An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel.

OR

• A person of active Christian faith, willing to adhere to Salvation Army religious and life principles and become an active member of the Salvation Army Church Community at Wyong. Please note The Salvation Army principles include non - consumption of alcohol and non gambling
• Demonstrated capacity to effectively listen, support, counsel and where necessary refer staff, visitors, volunteers or church members to appropriate practical or spiritual assistance services
• Capability and willingness to conduct prayer and Christian worship services in line with Salvation Army practice and principles
• NSW Government clearance for working with children – employed status
• Criminal History Check Clearance (this is coordinated by the Salvation Army on recruitment to the role)
• A current NSW drivers’ licence (not L or P Plate)
• Tertiary or other qualifications in theology, religious studies, ministry or equivalent.
