The Organisation

The Animal Welfare League of Queensland Inc (AWLQ) operates one of the largest re-homing shelters in Australia and cares for over 12,000 animals each year, with over 180 employees across 4 Rehoming Centres, 2 Community Vet Clinics and 12 Op Shops in South East Queensland.

The role

The Corporate Relationship and Fundraising Manager will AWLQ to the next level in identifying new business opportunities and develop existing relationships,

• Ensure business growth through managing business development activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with AWLQ’s charter and marketing strategy
• Develop and implement strategies to source, engage and maintain corporate donors and partners/sponsors, and regular giving
• Research potential funding sources for grants and prepare and submit proposals
• Drive and implement Workplace Giving programs and manage development and retention of participating companies and their employees
•  Manage and grow  kennel sponsorship programs and related fundraising sponsorship programs
• Provide support and direction to the Events Co-ordinator to establish, grow and maintain ethical and financially viable partnerships with third party supporters.
• Provide support and direction to the Community Outreach Co-ordinator to establish, grow and maintain ethical and financially viable partnerships with community groups.
• Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organization maximizes its short, medium, and long-term profitability and grows brand awareness throughout South East Qld
• Liaise with AWLA Executive Officer as required with regards to national corporate sponsorships or partnerships
• Review competitor movements and societal trends
• This role may cover weekends and evening commitments

Selection Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in Business Management
• Minimum 5 years Business Development experience in a similar role
• Experience within the Not for Profit sector desirable however not essential
• Current Australian drivers licence
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Demonstrated ability in maintaining and growing corporate accounts
• Understanding of Budgets and KPIs
• Experience in public speaking
