About the role

We are seeking experienced Support Workers to join our team to provide community based supports for our clients that live in shared or independent accommodation. Currently we have vacancies for morning, afternoon and evening shifts, Monday-Sunday, that are varied in length.

 

Support workers assist clients in multiple goal oriented activities including:

  • Hobbies and interest such as group activities, art and crafts, swimming, physical fitness activities.
  • Varied educational, employment and volunteer activities
  • Personal independence tasks

 

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Support people with Autism to achieve individual personal goals
  • Encourage and  develop independence in their home and within the community
  • Advocate for and support the person to access and be involved in their community
  • Engage with the wider community to provide a better understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder 

    Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in the disability field or a community service organisation within a similar role
  • Understanding of Autism Spectrum DisorderSupport
  • Passion for supporting people with Autism to lead the life they desire
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiasm, energy and the confidence to adapt and be flexible
  • Courage to think outside the box and be solution focussed
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain )
  • Provide a current National Police Certificate (no older than six months) or willing to obtain.
  • Full drivers' license (no P plates)
  • Reliable and roadworthy 4 door vehicle comprehensively insured
  • Willingness to undergo a medical assessment   
  • Available to work flexible and varied hours
