Community Mental Health Practitioner – Drugs & Alcohol
Help people to gain better mental health, and improve the quality of their lives.
A position has become available for a Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our Drug & Alcohol service located in Bendigo on a part time fixed term contract.
The Northern Victoria Alcohol and Other Drugs service is made up of clinicians from SalvoCare Northern Victoria (lead) and Mind Australia and provides a 10 week non-residential rehab program for clients wishing to recover from their substance use.
The role is responsible for providing intake, case management and group work delivery for individuals experiencing alcohol and other drug related problems
As part of the team at Mind you will:
- work part time, 30.4 hours per week on a fixed term contract
- provide clients with assertive engagement, coordination of care, information, referral and advocacy, intensive group therapy and inclusive of family and significant others in the clients recovery
- work within a recovery oriented framework to support individuals, families and carers
- develop rapport and trusting relationships with clients
- have strong verbal and written communication skills
- have a positive attitude to the work
- have the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
