Cooinda Cottage Child care is an 80 place not for profit community based service. The service is part of and managed by North Belconnen Community Association.
We strive to create a culture of collaboration, partnership, team work and openness amongst our educators, families, children and the local community. We aim to nurture and grow a community of life-long learners by encouraging active play, peer engagement, positive interactions and by providing a stimulating curriculum for children aged 0-5 years.
At Cooinda we are currently looking for a qualified permanent full-time Diploma educator and a Certificate 3 educator to join our friendly, dynamic and professional team. The successful applicant will receive above award wages and be supported with ongoing professional training, mentoring and leadership.
We are looking for candidates who:

- Will assist in the implementation of daily care routines;
- Are able to build strong relationships with children, families, educators and the community;
- Can competently complete all required documentation to a high level;
- Will follow and help sustain health and safety standards and guidelines;
- Will ensure that our philosophy, policies and procedures are adhered to.
Skills and Experience:
- Diploma and/or Certificate III in Children's Service or similar as approved by Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)
- Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team
- 'Working with Vulnerable People' registration (no restrictions)
- Demonstrated experience with writing documentation such as observations, curriculum and daily journals
- Ability to engage in critical reflection, both personally and professionally
- Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations
- Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework
- Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills
