The Queensland Micro- and Nanotechnology Centre (QMNC) was established in 2009 with core capabilities in microtechnology, nanotechnology and micro/nanosystems. The expertise is in the fundamental theory of materials, materials development, microelectronics, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and microfluidics. The research activities span across the disciplines of physics, chemistry, biology, applied mathematics and engineering.

The opportunity
We are currently looking for a Research Assistant to work within Queensland Micro- and Nanotechnology Centre (QMNC) at Griffith University on a novel polymeric 3D printing technology. The position is co-sponsored by an industry partner, working on cutting-edge polymer-based 3D printing technologies that may have large-scale commercialisation potential. The funding initially supports a full-time research assistant position for an initial period of one year with the possibility of extension.

This is a fixed term (12 months), full time position based at the Nathan Campus

About you
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree with Honours, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience, along with laboratory and/or fieldwork experience. The appointee will have the ability to carry out specified research tasks accurately with strong attention to detail and meet deadlines. Demonstrated high level communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team, are essential. Experience in polymer synthesis and characterisation, surface chemistry and modification would be highly desirable.

Salary range
Research Assistant Grade 2: $68,715 - $72,344 per annum plus superannuation.
