The Centre

KU John J Carroll Preschool is a lovely 40 place preschool located in the heart of the Surry Hills community, operating in NSW term times. The team are well respected in the community and enjoy fabulous parent involvement as a result of our wonderful relationship. You will have a passionate and capable approach to your work and love being part of a small close-knit team. Ideally you will have knowledge of Circle of Security principles and play spaces however this is not essential.

The Role

There is currently an opportunity for a part-time Early Childhood Teacher to join the team working Thursday & Friday, working 7.6 hours per day. 

We are looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who values partnering with families, is keen to further develop their skills and wants to join a passionate, capable and dedicated team.

The impact you'll have

  • work as a member of a co-operative team in order to provide an appropriate educational program for the children within her/his care.
  • ensure that up to date records are maintained for each child under that persons care.
  • ensure that the policies of KU and the funding authorities are implemented in providing appropriate care and educational programs for children.

What we're looking for

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • A current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree level of qualification in Early Childhood or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Teacher Accreditation through NESA
  • Completed training in Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and how they apply in your state
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF) 
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • A current Senior First Aid certificate as approved by ACECQA including current approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
