About the Roles
My client is advertising for three positions - an ECT, and two room leaders - the responsibilities of which will have a certain amount of flexibility. Dependent on the skills, experiences, and personality of the candidates, there is plenty of room to make the roles your own, and to bring a personal touch to a centre that prides itself on the creativity and uniquity of its staff.
In general, however, the ECT will be required to:
- Plan activities across all ages in the centre using a variety of methods, including storytelling and the arts
- Collaborate with other educators, as well as the director to develop a Reggio Emilio-inspired curriculum
- Assist management to ensure the qulity of the service
- Undertake and promote PD, where appropriate
- Maintain appropriate WHS standards and ratio within the centre
And the room leaders' main responsibilities will include:
- Acting and presenting as the leadership figure within their given room
- Handling the programming for their room
- Maintaining a safe environment within the room
- Managing records, administration, and observations within the room
- Maintaining and promoting parent-centre relationships
About the Candidate
Successful candidates will:
- Have an excellent knowledge of the EYLF, and all related frameworks
- Hold minimum qualifications of a Bachelor's (Hons) for the ECT position, and a Diploma for the room leaderships (or ACECQA-approved equivalents)
- Be lateral thinkers and innovative educators, with a track record of taking creative initiative within the classroom
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Have a positive attitude, and a passion for childcare!
