Our client is a global university of technology, design and enterprise.  Their mission is to help shape the world through research and innovation. They are seeking an LMS Trainer and Administrator to join them for a long term contract (3-5 years). 
 
The LMS Trainer and Administrator will provide specialist knowledge and skills to support the delivery of transformative online learning experiences. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of training and support programs for a range of internal and external users and stakeholders. With responsibility for LMS administration and quality assurance at a local level, this position will ensure optimal set up and technical execution of online courses and programs.
 
The LMS Trainer and Administrator will collaborate with internal and external partners to:
  • Develop, execute and maintain training programs for end-users of learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Open EdX), and related educational technologies (Turnitin, other LTI’s related to teaching and learning)
  • Create documentation and digital assets to support end-users in the delivery of online programs and courses
  • Monitor and resolve LMS help desk tickets
  • Develop and apply quality assurance and control frameworks and checklists for courses going live
  • Champion developmental approaches to training, initiate and remain active in the LMS and technology communities
  • Prepare course environments including maintaining the Master Course process for rolling over and updating courses
  • Oversee the set-up and management of application accounts and subaccounts
  • Manage users internal and partner roles and permissions within the LMS
  • Undertake functional testing of LTI’s as required by stakeholders including investigating various LMS and tool options, undertake functional analyses and provide recommendations and solutions
 
Key Selection Criteria:
  • LMS administration experience (preferably Canvas)
  • Excellent skills in developing and implementing training programs and resources for users of an LMS and/or related technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding and/or experience in quality assurance and quality control practices
  • Experience in the education sector (desirable)
  • A tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to the area (recommended)
