About the role:


Lowood Kindergarten, affiliated with C&K, are seeking a qualified Teacher for a part time contract position commencing Term 3, 2018. The successful educator will be working Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesday in a contract role until December 2019.
 
This is a service which has operated in Lowood for over 50 years and is a single unit kindergarten which is licensed for up to 22 children. The service prides itself on the relationships that have been developed with children and their families, and the quality of education that is provided to each child.
 
C&K is a not for profit organisation that has offered the highest standard of early childhood education and care since 1907. Regarded as one of Australia's leading providers, C&K's Building Waterfalls is the only independently approved early childhood curriculum in Australia.
 
The suitable applicant will have the following responsibilities:
  • The day-to-day running of the service
  • Mentoring, coaching and working with educators to meet the requirements of their position descriptions
  • Implementing a high quality, child-centred kindergarten program
  • Developing and maintaining open and collaborative relationships with all families
  • Encouraging and supporting parent participation within the program
  • Acting as an advocate for early childhood leadership within the service and the wider community
  • Providing a high quality Kindergarten program using the Building Waterfalls framework
  • Proven ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and make decisions
 
Ideal applicants will have:
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification) or equivalent;
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • Current paid or exemption blue card
  • Current first aid, CPR and asthma and anaphylaxis certificates
  • Previous experience in a teaching role in an Early Childhood environment
  • Previous experience in leading and inspiring a passionate team of educators within an early childhood environment
