About the Role
This role offers an amazing opportunity to lead and support our specialist team in the development and delivery of consumer-driven, sustainable and quality autism-specific services in the Rockhampton area.
The Team Leader has responsibility for managing daily operations of the Rockhampton centre, co-ordinating the development and delivery of Autism Queensland programs and services in the Rockhampton area.
This opportunity will appeal to an enthusiastic professional with the leadership skills and passion to embrace delivery of services funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and other initiatives in Rockhampton.
Please note this role is offered on a fixed-term, full-time basis with anticipated start and end dates being from 20 August 2018 to 25 June 2019.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Education, Speech Pathology or other relevant field
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of current theories and practice regarding child development, autism spectrum disorders and disability
- Demonstrated understanding of and significant experience in the provision of education and/or therapy and support for children and adults with ASD, including trans-disciplinary practice
- Demonstrated knowledge about and ideally experience in working within the NDIS
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience in the design and implementation of group and individual programs responsive to the needs of people with ASD and their families
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and ideally in leading a multi-disciplinary team
- High level interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to leading a regional team
