We are currently seeking to appoint a new Dean of Business School to lead and manage the Business School in implementing new programs and enhance the teaching and learning experience for our students.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Dean is responsible for leadership of TOP’s academic mission within the Business School and management of the School’s academic program. The Dean has overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the teaching and learning program of the Business School within coursework and research degrees and non-award courses.
The Dean will:
- Provide effective leadership to teaching staff and the academic administrative group and carry out annual academic staff performance reviews
- Implement the Teaching and Learning Plan and the Research Management Plan and ensure compliance with TOP’s Policies within the Business School
- Report at regular intervals to Academic Board, Teaching and Learning Committee and Course Advisory Committee on the Business School’s activities and implement initiatives decided by TOP’s governance committees as appropriate for the Business School
- Participate in the formulation of strategies and policies through membership of committees and ad-hoc working parties
- Provide advice to TOP’s executive management group, governance committees and the Provost
- Foster a research culture within the School and encourage staff to develop their research capacity
- Ensure appointment of appropriately qualified staff for teaching
- Review and approve final marks and grades in all units offered within the School each teaching period
- Contribute to TOP’s marketing activities through presentations at internal and external events
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Must have high academic qualifications, preferably at PhD level
- Have attained at least Level D (Associate Professor) level or above
- Sound teaching and research track record in an area within the Management and Commerce field
- Proven record in academic management within the higher education sector
- Prior working experience in senior management within the higher education sector
- Have proven strong knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory requirements in higher education
