This is an outstanding opportunity for an educator who can work strategically and is keen to play a key role in the provision and use of resources for research based pedagogies. This position will suit experienced teachers with exceptional personal, professional and leadership skills who desire to play an influential role in shaping pedagogical innovation.

The successful applicant will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and a zest for educational change based upon credible and justifiable educational research. They will have the skill set to expertly support the use of a range of technologies to promote creative and innovative learning. In addition the person who fills this position will hopefully have a love and knowledge of literature. The ability to teach a secondary subject would be seen as an advantage.

The Director of Research & Learning Services position is based at the Gawler site of Trinity College and has oversight of the Resource Centres of the College. Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience in inquiry based learning, research skills and the use of digital resources.

This position has the following significant responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategic Planning
    (Manage and lead the development and delivery of first class information resources across the College.)
  • Service Management
    (Ensure, that high quality, client focused assistance is provided regardless of the communication medium and that services meet the College's programme requirements.)
  • Resource and Collection Development
    (Monitor and evaluate the collections and their usage)
  • Curriculum Support
    (Support the development of research, inquiry based and self-directed learning along with the promotion of literature to secondary students)
  • Staff Leadership and Management
    (Build and maintain a cohesive staff team to implement the vision of managing and promoting the use of information resources across the College.)

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Suitable tertiary qualifications. (A range of qualifications may suit this position.)
  • Be passionate about and understand the learning needs and styles of 21st century students with particular emphasis on research.
  • Registered to teach in South Australia or be eligible to obtain registration.
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to Christian education.
  • Have a commitment to undertaking professional development or further study to ensure the best skill set for this position is achieved.
  • Have the desire and skills to participate in the College's co-curricular program.
  • Be able to build and lead a cohesive staff team with a common vision.
  • Have the interpersonal skills to quickly achieve trust and respect from the teaching team.
  • Be able to respond positively to the expectations of a modern school that is seeking to be at the forefront of educational developments.
  • Be able to lead other staff in the use of appropriate information and communication tools in classroom pedagogy.
  • Have a love of literature and be able to impart this enthusiasm to secondary students.
  • A warm, outgoing personality that enjoys working with people and promoting the facilities and resources you manage.
