Secondary Teaching Position

Luurnpa Catholic School, Balgo Hills is seeking a teacher who has the ability to teach literacy and numeracy skills to secondary aged students. The ability to teach home economics would be an advantage. This position is a full-time ongoing position, commencing Term Three, 2018.

Luurnpa Catholic School is a K-10 Composite school located in the Wirrumanu Aboriginal Community, Balgo Hills with an enrolment of 100 students. The school is in the east Kimberley region of Western Australia, located 600kms south of Kununurra and 900kms east of Broome. Halls Creek, the nearest town is 260kms away with access by 4WD. The Balgo Hills community has a vibrant indigenous culture and is a Catholic community.

A strong focus for all Kimberley Catholic schools is improving the literacy and numeracy outcomes of students, and therefore demonstrated expertise in these areas is highly desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an enthusiastic staff team in the education of the children of this remote community.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work in Australia and be eligible for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of WA.
